' l have always tried to capture fleeting times of pain and joy and produce work that will speak to people in a subliminal way and allow viewers to feel any emotions that the images conjure up.'

Over the last 25 years, Catherine and her husband Laurence Anholt have written and illustrated more than 200 highly successful children's books, which are published in 30 languages around the world and have won numerous awards. Throughout, Anholt has continued in her studio, creating hundreds of large fluid drawings and paintings. Her work centres on themes such as pregnancy, childbirth and a love of family and nature, and until very recently, she has shared her paintings only with family and friends.
